New Years Resolution

I have been wanting to create a blog for almost two years now, so I suppose I should introduce myself.  I am an avid equestrian.  I love to ride and work around my horses, and any other horse in my general vicinity.  Now as a mother of the most wonderful little boy, I am trying to pass on my love for horses.

Within this wonderful world, I have had the opportunity to ride and compete several different breeds of horses, and in numerous disciplines.  I love and respect all of them.  My favorite will always be jumping!

For my new years resolution, I want to encourage my family and friends to get healthy with me.  I know that sounds like a typical resolution, but please let me clarify.

A lot of people say they want to lose weight, get fit, eat right, say no to soda, candy, chocolate, wine, or what have you.  Instead, I think we should specialize and focus on just one thing at a time, and grow from there.

Last year I made a lot of little changes, each month focusing on just one goal at a time.  Ride twice a week, Ride in my english saddle twice a week, Drink 1/2 gallon of water each day, practice two point position for 10 minutes each ride.

Whatever your small goals are, pick one, make it a habit, and then move to the next one.  By breaking it down into sections, it won't seem like such a dauntless task, instead, it will be easy to achieve.

My goals for this blog, and for 2013, are to share my love of nutrition for you and your pets.  Take small steps toward a healthier lifestyle, stay positive, and complain less.

As we head into the coldest time of year for those of us in ohio, please stay with me on the last point.  Be happy you have laundry to do, others only have one or two pairs of clothes.  Be happy you have a meal to prepare, people on the streets would gladly cook it over an open fire.  Be Happy you have stalls to clean, that means you have a horse to love.

Stay warm, and Happy New Year!
